Now that was emotional!
On Wednesday evening, we had an amazing time with 15 different businesses at our monthly networking event. We met at The Moorings at Myton on possibly the warmest day of the year so far!
We had 45 minutes of open networking and then the presentations started for the evening. The speakers were fantastic! This was followed by 30 minutes of open networking and then people stayed until 9:40pm chatting away!
Simon Perkin spoke about fear and what you would be able to achieve if you were not afraid.
Next up was our keynote speaker, Martin “The Warrior” Warrillow!
Martin’s story is both inspirational and a massive wake up call. He was overworked, under-rested and his brain decided to give up while he was walking in the middle of the road.
He was a computer’s width away from being run over by a bus!
His top three takeaway tips were:
- Your brain can only take so much before it will stop working. Make sure you rest it and get enough good quality sleep.
- Listen to the warning signs and you might be able to stop something more serious happening.
- Have a plan in place if the worse does happen to you such as life insurance or a Will that will protect your business or your loved ones.
That was one of the most emotional talks I have heard and I want to thank Martin for coming over from Tamworth to speak to us all!
If you want to know more about Martin then you can check out his website here.
Now if you didn’t make it, then you can click here to go to our Facebook group and carry on networking with others online. Also, thank you to all the members who came along!
The next events will be on Wednesday 12th April when we will have the first How to use a Networking Hour workshop and our next Leamington Hour’s networking event. Please come and join us if you are free and you like the sound of them.
